Grootint GRP Systems is pleased to announce that Shell Eastern Petroleum (PTE) LTD awarded us the contact for the design, engineering, delivery and installation of the entire underground and above ground GRVE piping systems, including the qualification test. The pipe dimensions range from NW 900 - NW 2800.
The project is part of the Shell ECC project in Singapore consisting of among others an Ethylene Cracker Complex (ECC) and Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) petrochemical complex on Pulau Bukom Island with a capacity of max. 800.000 tons/year. The Shell Eastern Petroleum plant will be operational in 2009-2010.
The contract was awarded after a sucessful qualification test. The test was executed on a pipe spool with a diameter of
NW 2700. The test was according ISO standard 14692 for the duration of 1000 hours with a test pressure of 24 bar. This range of GRP pipe dimensions combined with the high pressure makes this test result record breaking.
